Training Workshops:

The Centre for Fun & Families has trained professionals from many areas to deliver their group work programs. The Centre for Fun & Families trains Nationally and Locally.

The Centre can offer four training packages:

  • Fun and families group work (for professionals working with parents of children aged 3-11)
  • Living with teenagers group work (for professionals working with parents of teenagers aged 11-16)
  • Combined Fun and Families and Living with Teenagers (for professionals working with both parents of younger and teenage children)
  • Grounded! Avoiding Conflict with Adults (for professionals working with 11-16 year olds)

The training usually involves two full days, however the Centre for Fun & Families can offer one day training dependent on need. The training can be tailored to professionals who wish to use the materials to work with parents/carers in one-to-one sessions rather than group work.

The training is offered at very very competitive rates; please contact the Centre if you wish to commission training for any of our group work programs for more details and costs.

Recommendations for our training can be provided and excellent evaluation evidence of previous training.

Examples of Professionals the Centre have trained are:

  • Social workers
  • Youth Offending Teams
  • Education Welfare Officers
  • School Nurses
  • Youth Workers
  • Health Visitors
  • Community nurses
  • SENCO’S
  • Voluntary sector workers
  • Family support workers
  • Family aids
  • Family Centre staff
  • Children Centre staff

The Centre’s training will shortly be accredited by the Centre for Fun & Families.

The Centre for Fun & Families are currently working with the National Academy of Parenting Provision to evaluate their established group work programs so that commissioners of training will be able to compare our program strengths with other parenting provision.

The centres group work programmes will be included in the NAPP revised commissioners toolkit in Autumn 2008.
